Sports Illustrated Leading Off – October 10, 2011 Issue

This is October 10, 2011’s Leading Off, Sports Illustrated’s photo essay portion of the magazine, which I transferred to the iPad and Galaxy layouts. Normally, this would be a simple task, even though we always put more photos in the digital version than the print version.

This week, however, was particularly challenging because of the third image, a chart of NHL players. Another designer had built this chart from scratch, and I had to recreate it on a much smaller scale. The silhouettes all had to be redone, while trying to maintain a decent size for viewing.
